just recently bought a used 5.3 that had compression. I honed the cylinders and put new rings in, the connecting rods and pistons are all placed correctly, all bearings are in correct order along with connecting rod spacing for crank. When i go to tighten the bolts down past 15lbs u can’t manually turn motor and it’s binding. is there something i’m missing or has anyone had this problem???

Anybody familiar with a combo like this? Got a 350 sbc based dirt track speedway engine. Bore is 4.180 (aftermarket Dart block) and big end journal size is 1.850/47mm on aftermarket steel crank and rods with BBC crank snout. Class limit is around 360 cubes so must be short stroke big bore combo. Has detonated and cracked a couple pistons so will be needing replacements. Do the numbers on piston boss mean anything to anyone? No other markings can see.

Hey direct injection folks, check this out.

Just sharing the facts, not trying to sell you on anxiety.

Just checked the Oil Catch Cans on my two cars to see how much oil they've actually collected.

Gray Ranger Raptor 3.0 V6 Twin Turbo:

Direct injection only (Ford says it's dual injection but it's really just DI)

4 months

Less than 7000 km

Red Toyota 86: 2.0NA Direct injection + Manifold

Can't remember when I last cleaned it (probably 2-3 years)

Probably around 5000 km driven Just so you know, this video is just for reference and not a scientific test or anything.

I’ve got a 3970010 350, .030 over with flat tops, factory stroke, with the factory ‘88 heads from the trucks original motor. I’ve got an ‘84 C20 Suburban with a 350and was curious if, at a glance, y’all think I’d be better off running the ‘84 350 heads or keeping the TBI heads. Both motors need head gaskets done. I do not know the casting numbers on the ‘84 heads.

Not a 350 but still a small block….434” nasty little bu**er

Looking for a set of the shelf spark plug wires that will work with a MSD ready to run distributor cap with out having to assemble them from Orileys. All the ones I find and talking to them on the phone are the wrong end on the cap side.
If anyone has a part number that would be really helpful.
