“Why do I owe out of pocket if insurance is paying for the repair?”

That’s a question we hear often.

In some cases, insurance companies only approve certain parts or repair procedures based on their own guidelines and cost controls.

If you prefer OEM parts instead of aftermarket alternatives, or if additional manufacturer-required procedures are needed to repair the vehicle properly, there may be costs insurance does not fully cover.

Our job is to explain those differences clearly so you can make informed decisions about your repair.

At the end of the day, we believe safety, fit, performance, and proper repair matter more than choosing the cheapest option available.

It was a busy couple of days raising money for organizations that make a difference in our community, one golf course at a time. ⛳️

Friday, the our team was proud to support the Comfort House Child Advocacy Center Golf Scramble with our Martin's Caddy Shot challenge.

Thanks to everyone who stepped up to the tee and took their shot, we were able to raise $520 for Comfort House Child Advocacy Center and the important work they do for children and families in our community.

Congratulations to Curtis Schaftlein, winner of the Martin's Golf Day Prize Package!

Thank you to Comfort House, the event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and golfers who helped make the day a success. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a great event and support such a meaningful cause.

Happy Father's Day.

Some of life's most valuable lessons don't come from a classroom.

They come from dads.

Thank you for the guidance, encouragement, and example you provide every day.

Not all replacement parts are the same.

When repairing a vehicle, there are typically three types of parts that may be used: OEM, aftermarket, and LKQ (recycled original parts).

🚘 OEM parts are made by the vehicle manufacturer and are designed specifically for your vehicle.

🚘 Aftermarket parts are made by third-party companies and can vary in fit, finish, and quality.

🚘 LKQ parts are recycled OEM parts removed from another vehicle.

Insurance companies often prefer aftermarket or recycled parts because they cost less. In some cases, those parts work fine. In other cases, they may not fit properly or meet the same standards as OEM components.

At Martin’s Body Shop, our responsibility is to advocate for repairs that restore the vehicle properly and safely, not simply choose the cheapest option available.

Most people only see the damage.

What they don't see is everything that happens beneath the surface.

Modern vehicles are built with advanced safety systems, sensors, and structural components that all need to work together after a collision.

That's why collision repair involves much more than replacing parts and applying paint.

From researching repair procedures to inspecting hidden damage, precision matters every step of the way.

Because the details you don't see are often the ones that matter most.

Why does one estimate look different from another?

It’s one of the most common questions we hear.

The short answer: an initial insurance estimate is not always the same thing as a complete repair plan.

Once disassembly begins, additional damage is often found behind panels and beneath the surface. Repair procedures, calibrations, safety systems, and part fitment all have to be considered before the vehicle can be repaired properly.

That’s why estimates can change throughout the repair process.

At Martin’s Body Shop, our focus is not just getting the vehicle repaired quickly. Our focus is making sure it’s repaired correctly and safely.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be breaking down common questions about collision repair, insurance estimates, parts, and what proper repair really means.

One of the first things we do after a vehicle arrives is begin the disassembly process.

Removing damaged parts allows our team to inspect what's underneath and identify damage that couldn't be seen during the initial estimate.

That's why repair plans sometimes change after a vehicle enters the shop.

The more we can see, the more accurately we can plan for the repairs ahead.
