MAX BMW Motorcycles The Northeast's only exclusive BMW Motorcycle dealership. Visit our three locations: North Hampton, NH. New Milford, CT. Troy, NY.

We're about more than just the machine. MAX BMW is family owned and operated. We opened our doors in June 2002 in North Hampton, NH with a single thought in mind - to be a different type of dealership. We know motorcycling is about more than the machine, it's about the people who ride. This attitude has helped us build the best motorcycling community in New England and New York. We are a different type of dealership.

Update of R80gs race bike #11 as we continue the full engine service. Fun to see the holes made to reduce weight. I went for one ride prior to the service the bike felt very different than a regular production bike. Now we can see why. Max

This preproduction GS race bike was raced! Hard to imagine the inside of the engine is destroyed as much as it is. Bike fired right up and sounded great when it came out of the crate. Pre purchase inspections are super important when buying an airhead. This is now a post purchase inspection. We did a cylinder leak down test on the engine and looked inside with a camera which lead us down the path of complete disassembly. There is scored rod bearings and some marks on the crank journal. The only correct fix is to do it all. Too much metal has circulated through the engine. Everything must be inspected and repaired. I’ll update again as these parts go through our in house machine shop. Max

BMW GS 800 for Off-Road Competition
Herbert Schek, from the Allgäu region, is preparing 10 machines for the new
class for engines over 750 cc.
Since the beginning of this year, a class for engines over 750 cc
has existed in off-road motorcycle racing. And ever since this new
championship class was announced, a number of riders have seen it as a
great opportunity for the “white-and-blue” boxer-engine bikes.
In collaboration with the technicians and engineers at
BMW Motorrad GmbH, off-road specialist Herbert Schek
developed a machine of which 10 units are to be built and sold
by the start of the season.
Just as tuners Alpina and Schnitzer receive factory support in
automobile racing, Herbert Schek—a motorcycle racer and tuning
specialist active for 25 years—is receiving support for his plans
from BMW Motorsport GmbH.
The motorcycle, named the BMW GS 800, has a displacement of 799 cc
and produces 55 hp (40.4 kW). A muscular torque curve and a
relatively low weight of 128 kg allow BMW enthusiasts
to look to the future of off-road racing with confidence.
