Geared Up Motorsports was established in 2013 in New Lenox, IL. We specialize in Chevrolet, Ford and Mitsubishi high performance vehicles. Over the years we have gained quite the catalog of successful builds from mild to wild, naturally aspirated and forced induction. Tuning is performed on our in house AWD 500 Series Mustang Dyno. Because sometimes you want to be civilized and sometimes you want to be the exact opposite. 😈

We’re finishing up this single turbo LS powered Jeep at Geared Up Motorsports, complete with a 4” exhaust system and Valvetronic Designs muffler.

These things are BADASS.

Want reasonable exhaust volume? Push the button.

Want to make sure everyone knows your Jeep has absolutely no business making this much horsepower? Push it again. 😂

Best part? The system has its own vacuum pump to operate the internal valves. No relying on engine vacuum.

Waiting on a few hangers tomorrow, and we are done!

Technology is awesome. Horsepower is better and Jeeps that do wheelies? Well… that’s just irresponsible engineering at its finest. 🤘😂

LS HEAD GASKET PROBLEMS AREN’T ALWAYS OBVIOUS 👀

Not every blown head gasket is going to leave coolant pouring out, milkshake the oil, or give you a giant cloud of white smoke.

Sometimes the signs are much more subtle.

A small sealing issue can show up as:
🔹 One cylinder that looks different
🔹 Unusual combustion marks
🔹 Coolant staining or tracks
🔹 A cylinder that’s cleaner than the others
🔹 Compression or leak-down results that don’t immediately scream “head gasket”
🔹 Small evidence of combustion getting where it shouldn’t

🔹 Ballooning of the MLS surface into a coolant jacket from combustion

That’s why looking closely matters.

When we’re diagnosing an LS with a suspected head gasket issue, we don’t just throw parts at it. We look at the evidence … cylinder condition, gasket surfaces, sealing areas, combustion patterns and the test results together.

Sometimes the gasket tells the story, you just have to know what you’re looking for.

When a Pontiac Fiero rolls into Geared Up Motorsports… you know something isn’t quite right. 😂

This one just happens to be a Fiero wearing an Aventador SV costume. 🤯

We got the pleasure of putting some wrench time into this absolute Frankenstein of a build, and we’re still trying to figure out whether to call it a Pontiac, a Lamborghini, or just “please don’t look too closely.” 😂

🔥 850+ WHP @ 41 PSI — 2G DSM 🔥

We spent some time on Valentin’s 2G DSM today and got this thing dialed in at 41 PSI, putting down 850+ WHP on our Mustang Dyno! 🤘

This 2G is no stranger to making power:

🔧 Forged bottom end
🔧 Ported head & upgraded valvetrain
🔧 GSC camshafts
🔧 PPG dog box
🔧 TRE drivetrain
🔧 ECMLink V3
🔧 And plenty more

We’re currently boost limited by the turbo hot side, but at 850+ WHP, there’s definitely enough there to go have some fun! 😈

We’ll be taking on a limited amount of Mitsubishi performance work and tuning once again.

We’re also extremely fortunate to have Jake behind the laptop when his schedule allows. The guy on the dyno is also one of the best calibrators in the business, period. We have been friends for 20+ years and we are so happy and appreciative when he has time to come make some horsepower with us🤘

Built right. Tuned right. With receipts.

Power is finally back and I drive up to these beauties! That’s how you start a Thursday. Where we came from to where we are. We hope everyone else faired the storms well and if you didn’t hope you get everything fixed up quickly!

We haven’t been able to post much but we are always here working and knocking them out.

Power is still not fully on at the shop. One leg is still out which unfortunately will not let us use the lifts… or the dyno.

Crossing fingers we will have some juice back tomorrow!! Cars were all safely inside when the storms came through as I’m a weather nerd and was way ahead of it 🙂 We lost a few big trees on our street!!! Thankfully wasn’t worse!

TUNE ONLY - 876WHP!!!!!

Just kidding, but it is a nice gen 2 car making 876whp.

Throwing an ESS supercharger, OPGs, fuel system and some e85 in your coyote is like having biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

You just can’t go wrong.

Built here @ Geared Up Motorsports Inc. and tuned on our mustang dyno by one of the best coyote turners out there Wengerd Performance.
