Today's Topic....How to be a decent person and be up front with people.

This engine sat for months at another Shop. Customer stated owner said waiting on parts, waiting on parts, waiting on parts. We had all the parts needed to repair it on-site in two days. Stop telling people short lead times just so they send you their engines and then hold them hostage by blaming it on parts. There was nothing custom needed to repair this engine. Its shady business practice. If your busy, then quote accurate lead times. This is not a one off instance with this builder.

Customer was sold a machine with a "fresh rebuild"
Throwing a ebay cylinder kit on a machine is not a fresh rebuild. This engine is trashed. Can we fix it, absolutely. Would we be doing the customer a disservice by fixing it. absolutely. The cost to replace/repair all the damaged components would put him at the same price of going and finding an entire machine in much better condition. This is in conjunction with a bunch of issues found with the chassis after the fact.
Its not hard to be honest and upfront....Your taking people's hard earned dollars.
