This Super Duty came through the shop with an impressive overlanding setup, and we couldn’t help but appreciate the build! 💪

From the ROAM Adventure Co. roof storage and rear-mounted recovery gear to the heavy-duty bumpers, auxiliary lighting, and upgraded suspension, this truck is equipped for some serious adventures.

But even the best-equipped trucks need attention under the surface.

Our team pulled the fuel tank to address an issue with the fuel level sending unit, an important component responsible for communicating fuel level information to the gauge.

Whether it’s diagnosing fuel system issues, handling routine maintenance, or installing aftermarket accessories like the ones seen on this truck, we’re here to keep your build ready for whatever comes next.

1968 GMC K15/K1500 — WHAT WOULD Y’ALL DO? 👀

This classic GMC is getting a modern makeover! We’re talking an LS engine swap, automatic transmission upgrade, and power brake conversion to turn this old-school truck into a more comfortable, dependable daily driver, while keeping that classic GMC look.

The goal? Build something that can actually be driven, enjoyed, and eventually handed down to the next generation. 🇺🇸

Now, I know this is where the opinions start flying… 😂

Some people say keep it 100% original. Others say modernize it and drive it like it was meant to be driven.

* Aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel with a custom Scout center cap adds a clean, old-school touch to this rugged build.

It’s always a good day when one of the crew brings their own project to the shop. Builds like this are a reminder that our passion for trucks doesn’t end when we clock out.

🛠️ 1968 GMC K1500 | A Classic With a Future

Some trucks are worth preserving, and some are worth building for the next generation. This 1968 GMC is getting the best of both worlds.

Still running, driving, and largely original, this classic GMC came to us with a vision: keep its vintage character while bringing the driving experience into the modern era.

The owner wants a truck that’s more comfortable, reliable, and enjoyable to drive regularly, with plans to eventually pass it down to his grandson.

Here’s what’s being considered for the build:

🔧 LS Engine Swap – Bringing modern V8 power and drivability to this classic platform.

⚙️ Automatic Transmission Conversion – Making everyday driving easier and more comfortable.

🛑 Upgraded Braking System – Adding power brakes and improving stopping performance to complement the drivetrain upgrades.

🛞 Power Steering Conversion – Improving steering effort and maneuverability.

❄️ Modern Comfort & Cooling – Exploring air conditioning and updated cooling components to make this truck more practical for Texas roads.

We’re starting with a thorough bumper-to-bumper inspection to understand the truck’s current condition and establish the right direction for the build.

The goal isn’t to erase what makes this GMC special. It’s to preserve its history while making it a classic that can be driven, enjoyed, and eventually handed down to the next generation.

Swapping out the factory oil pan for a new Banks pan on this one. Getting everything cleaned up and ready to go back together.

Your front end is easy to ignore… until it isn’t.

Tie rods, ball joints, wheel bearings, bushings and other front-end components take a beating every time you drive. Staying on top of the wear can help prevent uneven tire wear, loose steering, and bigger repairs down the road.
