This 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 came in with oil leaking from the front of the engine at just over 108,000 miles.

After inspection, we found the root cause wasn’t normal wear. Improperly applied RTV sealant from a previous repair allowed oil to bypass the sealing surfaces, leading to leakage from the front crankshaft seal and gallery plug area.

Repairs performed:
• Front crankshaft seal replacement
• Front gallery plug reseal
• Engine cleaning and inspection

Additional maintenance completed while disassembled:
• Transmission service
• Engine oil service
• Fuel filter replacement
• Engine air filter replacement
• Cabin air filter replacement
