On March 27, New Braunfels City Council approved some amendments to the city ordinance regarding golf carts.
🆕 Those changes include:
▪️Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles (ROV’s) and Utility Task Vehicles (UTV’s) have been added to the list of allowed vehicles on certain city streets
▪️Passengers on golf carts, NEV’s, ROV’s, and UTV’s must be over the age of four (4)
▪️Allowed vehicles can only drive five (5) miles from the location where the vehicle is usually parked
▪️An operational horn is required for all allowed vehicles (along with other previously required equipment)
▪️A valid state license is required for all allowed vehicles
📣 Other important reminders:
▪️Allowed vehicles can only be driven during daylight hours and are not to be driven on sidewalks or hike/bike trails.
▪️Allowed vehicles can only be driven on designated streets
📝 Please note:
Failure to follow these regulations can result in a citation! A first offense has a minimum fine of $100 and a maximum fine of $500. However, having or permitting a passenger under the age of four (4) has a minimum fine of $250 for the first offense. The second offense and any subsequent offenses has a minimum fine of $500.
