Happy Saturday going out to everyone out there.

On this project, which is a 1979 Mooney Airplane, my customer said he wanted to update the interior with something that would really pop.

After a few discussions I ordered in some Dark Brown and Espresso leather hides and I got to work on creating something I am now really proud of.

* All seat bottom and seat back foam is new and all shaped from scratch with bolsters.

* The original backing panels for the side pieces were also made new and covered with a 1/2 inch foam and top stitched with a 3/4 inch border.

* Top stitch and French seams are all laid out in a Tan Hi grade thread.

I really pushed myself on this project. As you can see by all my other posts, it’s the first in this style for me, but definitely not the last. I actually used this project as practice because I have another project that is going to incorporate this exact set up and design.

Keep your eyes open for that one as I’m already looking to do more of this “made from scratch” type work.

Customer came in and asked if I could match what was already there.

Now, I gotta be honest. I felt super rusty on this one, and with my guys also working, and taking my attention away from the project, I actually had to do it 3 times.

1st time, I just didn’t like it so I chunked it in the trash, and started over.

2nd time, I goofed and forgot that the customer wanted pleats and not smooth tops. Yip, to the trash with ya!!! 😂

3rd time was the charm. Pleats all lined up from top to bottom, and it looked way better IMO.

All in all customer was graciously patient with me, and absolutely loved it.

PS. 😁 Yes, if I’m not happy it goes in the trash. 😁

Shout out to DOWNTOWN SOCIAL and THE POUR HAUS in NBTX for letting us take care of their indoor, and outdoor, bar stools.

This is the second load and was delivered this morning.

I recommended all marine grade vinyl to be used in an effort to help them get longer use on them.

We also replaced all the old foam cushions with new foam and replaced all the old wooden bases.

Man it feels good to talk about projects again…..

Customer brought me this truck and wanted us to update the seat with small bolsters on the sides, a little more lumbar support, and move the cup holder out of the armrest down to the front of the seat.

He also chose a dolphin grey vinyl as the primary color for the steering wheel, door arm rests, and bench seat. Then he decided to go with a carbon fiber vinyl for the inserts on the seat.

I think it goes pretty well with this interior and the truck.

I am still in the Clear Springs area of New Braunfels. The FRONT of the property faces Hwy 46 and it was formerly known as “VARNI ROOFING”. Now the front lot sells storage sheds.

My shop is on the back side of the property and is ONLY accessible off of CLOUD LANE.

*** Please don’t drive up in the front, you’re just gonna have to go around the block, to the back. ***

In all reality, if you know where the old shop was located, the NEW SHOP is just up the street still on CLOUD LANE.

Just a little new shop progress.

If you’ve been reaching out about work then I’m Sorry I haven’t responded.

Currently my guys and I are only working on getting the new shop location ready, so I’m not doing much upholstery work at this time.

I don’t mind looking at the project for you but I probably won’t be ready for work for another 2 weeks.
