Broken extractors are bad. There's nothing fun about them. When you can't get a fastener out of an old machine, it's frustrating. When it strips and you have to drill it out, the frustration builds. When your extractor breaks, so does something in your mind. This has happened before, and it happened again this week while working on the Rukus's bike. The funny thing is, I dealt with this exact issue years ago working on his old scooter.
Several years ago, an extractor broke. Because my young son was with me, I didn't want to swear, so I held in my impending emotional outburst and just said, "oh no." A very young Deklan said, "Why's the back of your neck all red, dad?"
This time around, I was the only one in the shop. When that extractor broke, there was no emotional outburst, no swearing, no raise in my blood pressure at all. What changed?
Now that I have made Jesus the Lord of my life, I'm constantly learning to accept that sometimes things just happen. It's a struggle sometimes, but He is helping me every day.
