Have you ever wondered what lies beneath your TPO or EPDM roof? Most manufacturers employ a split rafter system, comprising a 1.5-inch bottom chord and a 1-inch top chord. The space between the chords is filled with blocks of varying sizes, creating the curvature that facilitates water runoff. This void also allows for the passage of ductwork and wiring. During roof replacements, we conduct thorough inspections of the rafters for damage and assess the wiring in the ceiling. It is not uncommon for us to discover wiring that has been pinched or damaged by staples or screws. We invite you to contact us today to schedule a consultation for your soft floor or warped roof. Our expertise lies in structural and collision repairs for a wide range of RV brands and styles.

Do you winterize your RV? With temperatures forecasted to be in the 20s tonight, it’s that time of year we should start considering it. Temperatures below freezing don’t always result in damaged pipes or fittings. Remember, your RV is insulated, so the residual temperature inside will not drop as rapidly as the outdoor temperature. Here in eastern North Carolina, freezing overnight temperatures this time of year are typically brief. The interior temperature of your RV must drop well below 32 degrees for pipes, fittings, and valves to freeze. Furthermore, even if the trapped water in lines freezes, it doesn’t necessarily mean the ice will become solid enough to expand before temperatures rise above freezing again. Do you believe you’re protected simply because you blew the lines out with air and maybe you poured a splash of antifreeze down the drains? The issue is that even air flowing through your lines won’t remove all trapped water from your valves and low areas in the plumbing system. To properly winterize, you must flow RV antifreeze through all your faucets and fixtures to displace any water that air cannot move. How can you ensure your plumbing system is safe? Consider having us professionally winterize your RV; contact us for pricing and availability.
