Weekend recap

We went to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on Saturday and was able to pick up win #2 on the year. Also a great night when you can get Grandpa George and Cinnamon in Victory Lane!

Can’t thank Rocket Chassis enough for building a car that will withstand the test of time! Our car is a 2017, we have one engine to play with, but we want it more than the rest! There are a lot of guys out there that don’t know the true definition of a little team, but we do, and we are happy to do the best with what we have!

Weather permitting, we plan to race with the MARS Racing Series this weekend at Kankakee County Speedway and Highland Speedway! Hope to see a lot of my old friends come out to Highland on Saturday!

I don’t know if it’s humanly possible to put in more hours than Jose Parga and myself have been, but the results are showing. I can’t thank him enough for being with me every step of the way this year! Also thank you to the girls Audrianna Lyons and Sarah Jones for putting up with this crazy life we live and always keeping us fed well! Thank you to Madden Schoen Korey Damery and Kenny Miller for being there every chance they can!

We were able to pick up our first win our the year after a wild one at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55!

Heat race : 6 ➡️ 2
Feature : 2 ➡️ 22 ➡️ 1

After an early mishap on lap 7, we were forced to hit pit and change a tire. We had to restart at the rear and start digging out of that hole with 18 to go. This win is so important to us for so many reasons. I know this time around, our hard work and dedication to this game is being appreciated. We have built a team that not only I believe in, but everyone that’s involved believes in. Working on the car doesn’t seem like work anymore, I am truly falling back in love with the game we play. I can’t thank Tommy Sheppard Sr. And my Grandpa George enough for letting us write our own story and keeping us going.

This win marks a lot of firsts for us.

• First win in a super with the family team
• First win since becoming a dad
• First win for Madden

I also have to thank Jose Parga enough for continuing to go above and beyond for us. We used his hauler, his trailer, he works on this thing every night, arguably more hours than I’m able to. While I was in North Carolina this week stressing how we could do it all, he was home washing and maintaining the car. It doesn’t go unnoticed and you don’t know how much we all appreciate you.

I also want to thank Audrianna Lyons and our son Kessler for letting me do what I love and supporting me the whole way. It’s a lot of hour away from the house, and I thank you for understanding and joining us much more this year. I love you guys

🚨 Late Update 🚨

We took the car to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 for our first night of the season, and our first night ever as a newly formed team. I couldn’t be any more proud of what me and my family have been able to build together from the ground up! None of it would be possible without Tommy Sheppard Sr. wanting this just as much as I do! He has given me all the tools we think we need to be successful!

We started off the night by winning our heat race, and followed that up by missing the setup by a Mille and a half in the feature! Driver was definitely rusty after not being in one for 10 months, but it all came back quick! Upon review, we found a few major things that we had wrong with the setup, so we are really looking forward to trying our luck again! I can’t thank Jose Parga, Madden Schoen, Korey Damery, Kenny Miller, Audrianna Lyons enough for all the help on Saturday, and all the late nights getting ready for the season. It feels good to finally be back doing what we love, only this time, we get to do it how we want to do it!

I apologize we didn’t make a post about where we were racing first, I know a lot of people would have liked to go watch our comeback night! We just wanted to fly under the radar and shake the car down to see what we had! We will keep everyone posted moving forward.
