We completed one of the jobs for the help a community member program. This gentleman is in the marines and protecting us and this country. His wife uses the vehicle to get their kids to school, drs appointments, etc.. they have a Honda where the vehicle would start to run rough and stall out. It would start right back up the. Almost immediately do it again. We spent time diagnosing the vehicle and found the air/fuel ratio was dead and the computer was adding max fuel. We ordered both o2 sensors for them and once we installed them the car runs as it should. They were so happy this is the reason we created this program to help those who deserve a break. A new client of ours contacted us stating they smell something burning and wanted us to take a look. When we arrived I could immediately smell it, burning brakes. So we knew we had a seized caliper, slide, or pads. We disassembled all the brakes and found the front pads absolutely seized in the bracket. We advised the client that pads and rotors should be replaced and he decided to replace parts on all 4 corners. We installed everything and now the smell is gone and the client is happy the brakes feel better. Thank you Joe C., for your trust and patronage. Hello everyone, The help a community member program has come to an end for this round. This was the most difficult round as of yet. So many hardworking deserving folks, so we picked 7 people to help. A absolutely fantastic husband and wife reached out and they were in need of a new mechanic because theirs retired. We went by to perform a general inspection and found a few things needing attention. We replaced front and rear brakes, performed a tune up, changed the air filter, and completed a more in depth inspection. A new client contacted us stating they wanted a few things done. He stated he wanted front brakes, rear brakes, tire rotation, brake fluid flush, and an oil change. He said he was impressed by all the recommendations he received about us and didn’t trust many mechanics to work on his car. We had a new client referred to us by a current client. They stated they knew they needed brakes but had a concern over some noises they heard. Upon visual inspection we saw the inboard pad was completely worn and had eaten the rotor. Concerned there was a pad caliper or hose we checked to ensure everything was operational and it was. Replaced the brakes and the noises are now gone and the client can safely stop. Thank you Nick for your trust and patronage. One of our clients bought a car not long ago and wanted us to check out a couple things. They were told they had an oil leak and the vehicle was making noise. We removed the valve cover due to a leak and the gasket disintegrated into pieces so we replaced it. There was an exhaust leak so we replaced a gasket. We also found the rear rotors extremely rotted and delaminating, pads were worn very low. We replaced the rear brakes. Client was extremely happy and is safely back on the road. A new client contacted us stating we came highly recommended on Facebook (thank you everyone). He has a coolant leak and needed it fixed. Upon our visual inspection we found the upper hose had a plastic (coupler quick connect) fitting and it had cracked. Called the dealer for the plastic coupler and they wanted $95 I was able to order a factory replacement hose with the coupler for $74. These manufacturers are getting more and more ridiculous. One of our good clients called us asking for help to diagnose a noise their truck was making. We quickly diagnosed the noise as a seized water pump. It was so stuck it was very difficult to access the bolts hidden under the pulley. We were able to remove the bolts and found the pump to be stuck in the manifold housing. Worked it out with a hand chisel and hammer. Cleaned up the mating surfaces and bolted up the new pump. We replaced the belt and tensioner too. A new client contacted us asking if we could replace their front and rear brakes. We gave them a price and they were really happy with it. Upon disassembly we noticed the rotors were badly warped and heat checked. You can tell someone replaced only the pads at some point too.
