Russ Leite
I try to explain to my children and grand children the importance of keeping your word. Relationships, money, possessions, health issues, they all come and go over time. Your word and your promise are all you really have in the end. Believe me I am so far from perfect, but my word still matters to me. This way of living seems at times appears to be lost in this new generation. 17 years ago, I made a promise to an amazing aging couple, Donald and Louise Tucker. Because of a blessed moment 17 years ago watching them struggle to put the flags up at Fort Phoenix, myself and my daughter Chloe Leite who was 7 at the time told me”we got it from here”.This tradition happens every Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Independence Day 17 years later because respect and your word still means something. I am not looking for an “atta boy”. Challenge yourself, make a small difference in someone’s life and above all KEEP YOUR WORD. Have an amazing weekend
