This is an Allis 2800 block that was leaking coolant past the sleeve o-rings due to rust porosity.
Pic1: Lower sleeve landing bored to size with a bottom step for insert to seat against.
Pic2: Thin wall repair inserts shown with precisely machined installer plate.
Pic3: Insert has to be carefully squeezed through since o.d. is larger than the upper deck counter bore. Note the insert is coated with an anaerobic sealer.
Pic4: Driver plate is machined with 2 flat spots to allow it to also slip into the block.

Pic6: An upper centering cone is used to keep driver aligned during install. A slight deflection could result in a cracked insert.

Pic8: Installed inserts are checked for proper i.d. Wet sleeves require min. .003" clearance between od of sleeve and block o-ring landing. I had to hone .001-.002" out for proper clearance.
