Please join us as we
Honor Our Purple Heart Heroes 🇺🇸💜

The Needham Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2498 invites the entire community to join us on Thursday, August 7, in observance of National Purple Heart Day as we honor the brave men and women from Needham who were awarded the Purple Heart for their courage and sacrifice.

The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Park with the raising of the Purple Heart Standard, where it will fly for the next three days. This will be followed by the reading of the names of all known Needham Purple Heart recipients. The Fallen Brave Memorial honors more than 84 local heroes, with names dating back to World War I.

The Purple Heart is the nation’s oldest military decoration, first established by General George Washington during the American Revolution. Today, it is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been wounded or killed in action while serving our country.

The Needham Select Board has proudly proclaimed Needham a Purple Heart Community and designated August 7 as Purple Heart Day. Residents and businesses are encouraged to display the American flag in recognition of the extraordinary service and sacrifice of our Purple Heart recipients.

Please join us as we come together as a community to remember, honor, and express our heartfelt gratitude to these courageous heroes and their families. All are welcome to attend. 💜

To celebrate National Hot Dog Day, we’re bringing back ONE MORE Weiner Wednesday! Because let’s be honest… you can never have too many hot dogs or too many reasons to get together!

🇺🇸 The members of VFW Post 2498 are excited to welcome the entire community after the Needham July 4th Parade! 🇺🇸

Join us from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM for a complimentary luncheon at the Post. Whether you're a veteran, a military family, a longtime resident, or just looking for a fun way to continue celebrating Independence Day, everyone is welcome!

We'll also have face painting, balloon animals, and plenty of family-friendly fun. We'd love the opportunity to meet our neighbors and celebrate this special day together.

That’s a wrap on our first Needham VFW Co****le League! 🌽🎯
What a great season filled with competition, laughs, prizes, and new friendships. While we’re a little bummed it’s over, we’re excited to say this is only the beginning!

A special thank you and congratulations to Doug Mangini on his retirement and for all of his help in making the league run so smoothly each week.

Based on the excitement and response, Co****le is here to stay and we’ll see you all again for our next season in January, watch Facebook and Instagram updates!
