Jack Nicholson driving his beloved Lotus White ’67 Beetle Convertible in L.A. Jack must have loved Volkswagen because he’s driving a similar one in THE SHINING.
This original convertible Beetle also makes an appearance in UP IN SMOKE. Tommy Chong drives in the beginning of the movie. Legend has it that Nicholson was the one that put the Rolls Royce grille on the VW.
It’s now owned by Walt Disney’s grandson. It sold in a Sotheby’s auction for only 5300. I think Jack originally purchased it from Jack McAfee in Burbank since his name is on the license frame.
