Tire size can be confusing. Some numbers on the sidewall are listed in metric while others are in inches. Plus, the right size for your car, truck or trailer can differ depending on tire use and your driving habits.

You can see your original equipment tire size in your owner’s manual. This is the sizing recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

If you’re interested in switching out your tires for a different look or performance need, a good place to start is to look at the codes on your existing tires’ sidewall. Then have a tire professional help you determine a tire size range that will fit your vehicle and driving goals.

With all the different shapes and sizes of connectors it's not always easy when it comes to trailer wiring and choosing the right one for your application. Trailer or towed vehicle wiring can be confusing with all of the different purposes for connectors that you might not be aware of. You need to make sure that you choose a connector with the appropriate number of pins for the required functions of your trailer or towed vehicle. If you have a connector that is located under the vehicle you might want to connect it to the vehicle by using a mounting bracket to help prevent damage from a angling wire. Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) is easy to calculate and critical to know when towing a trailer.

Gross trailer weight is the actual weight of your fully loaded trailer, which includes the weight of the trailer itself along with everything loaded onto it or into it. Any cargo, passengers, animals, equipment, fluids and everything in between contributes to the gross trailer weight.

It is also important to know your gross vehicle/trailer weight rating (GVWR or GTWR) so that you do not exceed the maximum permissible weight when fully loaded.
