Last night's qualifier. Something about the clutch pack was too thin and caused the engine to go almost 11,000 rpms. It only kicked out one rod. It's actually not terrible for this type of engine, to spin that far over the peak.

The DLD Dragpak was fast and awesome per the usual! But have to talk about this super stock car for a second. Jeff Taylor built a badass piece.
Chris hardy at RET Racing Engine Technologies built some steel heads that have taken us to the next level! And Nick at A & A Transmissions built a sweeet pro flight for it. We hit our goal the second race out. Now I want more!

Got both cars entered into the US Nats and we will roll out tomorrow in search of win lights! Thank you Don Stahl for transporting the car around and supporting my craziness!

Three really important things (of many) that we do to every engine, to have a better outcome.

1. Do the valve spring math: each requires a certain open pressure. (Spring rate x lift) + Seat Pressure= open pressure
A. Valve weight x Maximum RPM
B. Hydraulic flat tappet, solid flat tappet, (tappet diameter) are different open maximum pressure
C. Hydraulic roller, solid flat roller, are different open maximum pressure

2. Align the guide plates so the rollers are square on the valve.

3. Check and or correct the harmonic balancer to "True TDC"
