Clayton Stark rolling in to grab his Porsche 914 engine while Eric was out tearing it up on the Classic Car Adventures Silver Summit Rally!

The PMB crew got everything dialed in — we fired up his 1.7L-to-2.0L on the run stand and installed our latest bolt-on EFI system for crisp performance and reliability. Engine running strong and ready to drop in!

Clayton loaded it up and headed straight to work installing it back in the 914. Another happy customer back on the road with modern fuel injection on a classic air-cooled flat-four.

First fire-up of Clayton Stark’s early Porsche 914 engine on the PMB run stand — and it fired right up with a healthy, strong sound!

We also geek out over this super cool original oil bath air cleaner that came on the early 914s. Such a classic piece of German engineering.

Back in the garage with Clayton Stark as we start buttoning up his 1.7 Type 4 long block! Freshly coated tin is going on, valves are getting properly adjusted, and things are starting to come together nicely.
Next up: intake manifolds and the full EFI system install. This build is getting serious!

Giving this beautiful 1976 European 911 Carrera 3.0 some modern reliability and safety upgrades at PMB Performance!

We installed bright LED bulbs for dramatically better night visibility, replaced the old fuse panel with a killer “Classic Retrofit” modern blade-style unit for improved reliability, and refinished the fuel tank with the correct factory-style stone guard coating to protect it for years to come.

These updates keep the classic character while making the car safer, more dependable, and ready for the road. Classic 911s deserve to be driven and enjoyed!

Clayton Stark dropped off his 914 engine at PMB Performance for a full run stand verification before installing it in the car.

We fired it up, checked oil pressure, listened for any issues, monitored temps, and made sure everything was dialed in and ready to go. Peace of mind is everything when you’re building something this serious!

We had to mess with you for a second… 😂

This rare 1974 Porsche 914 Limited Edition “Creamsicle” just came in for some serious metalwork. We replaced the entire rear trunk half with… of course, a “Restoration Design” panel to get this iconic targa back in shape.

Next stop: Würth seam sealer and then off to the paint shop for a fresh rear trunk respray that will make those classic Light Ivory and Phoenix Red accents pop again.

From limited-edition Can-Am tribute to road-ready classic — the restoration continues. What do you think of the progress so far?

This beautiful black 1989 Carrera rolled into the shop for a full brake and suspension refresh — and we’re taking it straight back to basics. 🖤

This is where it all started for us: restoring those iconic zinc-plated steel ATE calipers that made these air-cooled legends stop like they should. No fancy modern upgrades here… just proper, period-correct work that keeps the soul intact. (And yeah, I still refuse to call them ‘old’ air-cooled cars — I remember when they were brand new! 😏)

From dusty calipers to razor-sharp stopping power and dialed-in suspension, she’s coming back to life the right way.

Big progress on the Roth Build! Front and rear trunks are fully finished and looking clean.

We’re now just waiting on the 2.5 six cylinder engine to drop in, while we wrap up the wheels and tires. This thing is coming together exactly how we (and the customer) envisioned it.
