🔧 Bringing a Classic Chevy Back to Life! 🔧

We recently had this beautiful 1972 Chevy C1500 in the shop at BB’s Auto/Diesel Repair after the owner noticed it was running extremely rough.

After digging into the issue, we discovered a significant amount of trash and debris inside the fuel tank that had made its way through the fuel system and into the carburetor.

Rather than just fixing the immediate problem, we addressed the source of the contamination to help prevent it from happening again!

🔧 Here’s what we did:

• ✅ Replaced the contaminated fuel tank
• ✅ Completely flushed the fuel lines
• ✅ Rebuilt the carburetor
• ✅ Replaced spark plugs and ignition wires
• ✅ Installed a new distributor cap and rotor button

These older carbureted engines may not have all the electronics found on today’s vehicles, but proper diagnosis and attention to detail are just as important!

CHEVY 3500 DURAMAX – HEAD GASKET REPAIR & CP3 CONVERSION! 🔧

Another big Duramax job here at BB’s Auto/Diesel Repair! 💪

This Chevy 3500 came into our shop with head gasket issues. The customer wanted to go a step further with the repairs by installing brand-new cylinder heads and upgrading the fuel system with an S&S Diesel CP3 conversion kit!

🔍 During teardown, we discovered another issue!

This truck had previously had head studs installed at another shop. During disassembly, we found that several of those studs were not properly tightened. Proper installation and torque procedures are critical when it comes to keeping these high-performance diesel engines sealed up!

🔧 Here’s what this job involved:

✅ Cab removal for access to the engine

✅ Complete cylinder head removal and inspection

✅ Brand-new cylinder heads installed

✅ Addressing the improperly tightened head studs

✅ S&S Diesel CP3 fuel pump conversion

✅ Careful reassembly with attention to proper torque procedures

The CP3 conversion is a great upgrade for the LML Duramax, replacing the factory CP4 pump with a more robust fuel pump design and helping reduce the risk of costly CP4-related fuel system failures.

2015 Ram 1500 – Electrical No-Start / Blown Fuse Diagnosis 🔧⚡

This 2015 Ram 1500 came into the shop with an electrical issue that kept blowing the ECM/run-start fuse, leaving the truck unable to operate properly.

Instead of throwing parts at it, we broke out the wiring diagrams and started isolating the circuit. We disconnected the ECM, electric power steering, relays, and other components while using a current-limiting test light to safely track down the short.

After working our way through the circuit, we found the real problem hidden inside the engine wiring harness — a failed/bad splice in the red and green circuit that was causing the fuse to blow.

We opened up the harness, repaired the damaged splice and wiring properly, then reassembled and tested everything. No more blown fuse and the Ram is back up and running.

Electrical problems like this can take some digging, but proper testing can find the problem without guessing and replacing unnecessary parts.

🔧 2006 VW Beetle 2.0 Diesel Repair 🔧

This VW Beetle was towed into BB’s Auto/Diesel Repair after hitting a rock that put a hole in the oil pan and dumped the engine oil.

While we had it in the shop, the customer also wanted to take care of some preventative maintenance, so we went ahead and installed:

✅ New oil pan
✅ Complete timing belt kit
✅ New water pump
✅ Fresh oil & filter

On these VW diesels, staying ahead of the timing belt and water pump is especially important. Now this Beetle is repaired, serviced, and ready to get back on the road!

🔧 2004 Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins – Injector Repair 🔧

This 2004 Ram with the 5.9 Cummins came into the shop with a dead cylinder and a noticeable miss.

After diagnosing the issue, we found a failed fuel injector. With the age and mileage on the fuel system, the customer decided to take care of the complete set while we were in there.

We installed:
• All 6 new fuel injectors
• 6 new injector feed tubes
• Performed a complete valve adjustment

With everything back together and properly adjusted, this 5.9 Cummins is running smoothly again and ready to get back to work. 💪

Ram Rear Differential Replacement 🔧

This Ram came into the shop with a noticeable noise coming from the rear of the truck. Rather than guessing at the source, we hooked up our electronic chassis ears and road-tested it to pinpoint exactly where the noise was coming from.

Through the electronic ears, we could clearly hear a failed bearing inside the rear differential.

Instead of patching the problem, we replaced the complete rear axle assembly with a Jasper replacement rear end, backed by a 3-year/100,000-mile parts and labor warranty.

🔧 Jeep Grand Cherokee – Head Gasket Repair

This Jeep Grand Cherokee came into BB’s Auto/Diesel Repair with a blown head gasket. Once we got it torn down, we found that the cylinder heads had warped and needed to be sent out to the machine shop to be resurfaced before going back together.

While we’re in there, we’re also replacing the factory oil cooler with an upgraded all-metal unit to help eliminate another common failure point.

The customer also has an ACS extended warranty, and we’re working directly with ACS to get the majority of the repair covered, helping save the customer a significant out-of-pocket expense.

🔧 2020 Ram 1500 – Engine Replacement 🔧

This 2020 Ram 1500 came into BB’s Auto/Diesel Repair with a ticking noise under load that sounded like a possible lifter issue.

Once we got into the engine, we found heavy sludge buildup throughout the valvetrain, and it was clear this engine had bigger problems than just a simple tick.

Rather than patching the problem, we installed a Jasper remanufactured engine backed by a 3-year/100,000-mile parts & labor warranty. This replacement engine was also built without the MDS cylinder-deactivation system, eliminating a system known for contributing to camshaft and lifter problems on these HEMI engines.

🔧 2021 Ram 1500 – Exhaust Manifold Repair

This 2021 Ram 1500 came into BB’s Auto/Diesel Repair with a noticeable ticking noise from the engine bay.

After inspecting the exhaust system, we found the problem — both exhaust manifolds were cracked. Those cracks were allowing exhaust to escape and creating the ticking noise the customer was hearing.

We replaced the damaged manifolds, took care of the exhaust leaks, and got this Ram back together and ready for the road. 💪
