Once again we kept all lanes open on Interstate 24 last night while working this severely jack knifed tractor trailer incident in Christian County Kentucky. The focus is to reduce secondary accidents when traffic comes to a stand still on Interstates. If there is a will, there is a way to keep both lanes of travel open and moving. It does increase the chances of us getting struck on our end though. A key element to this process, the fifty ton rotator. A crane on wheels that can lift, pull, drag, and tow while possessing five winches!

The cab, during this incident, broke completely free from the cab mounts and was dislodged. Using the rotator, we removed the cab from the equation. The humidity was horrible!!!!

The Setcom Wireless Headsets for scene communication is just as important as the rotator. The ability to calmly speak during these types of incidents is priceless! The safety factor with all the engine noise, distance, and highway noise involved, all one must do is say stop and every moving component of the operation comes to a rapid halt.
