How often should you change your oil?
Some modern vehicles, especially those using synthetic oil, recommend an oil change every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. Some even mention extended intervals of up to 15,000 miles under ideal conditions with specific oils. Most vehicles can go between 5,000 and 7,500 miles with synthetic oil, and some older cars may need changes every 3,000 miles. These schedules are general recommendations, and the actual interval can vary based on several factors. Did you know?
In Pennsylvania, when your wipers are on due to weather conditions, you must have headlights on, regardless of the time of day. Even if your vehicle has daytime running lights (DRLs), they are not sufficient when wipers are in use. You must activate your headlights to also turn on your taillights.

Which should you use? The tire pressure listed on your tire or on the doorjamb?
Answer: The door jamb sticker:
This sticker, usually found on the driver’s side doorjamb, lists the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle’s original tires and wheels. This pressure is chosen to optimize your vehicle’s performance, fuel economy, and tire life. The recommended tire pressure is also listed in your owner’s manual.

Do not use the tire sidewall:
The number on the tire sidewall indicates the maximum pressure the tire can hold, not the recommended pressure for your vehicle. That figure is the maximum pressure—not necessarily the ideal pressure. Inflating tires to the maximum pressure, may cause them to wear unevenly, and they may need to replaced sooner.

Throwback Thursday time: On April 9th, in the year 1978 the first U.S.-assembled Volkswagen Rabbit (Golf) rolled off the line in Pennsylvania. This was a big deal because it marked Volkswagen fully entering U.S. manufacturing instead of just importing cars.
