On behalf of all of us at Dan Kniep’s Complete Auto, we would like to thank the amazing first responders who battled the fire at our building on Thanksgiving Day. We are devastated to say that it left our 30-year-old business here in Morton a total loss, but we are so thankful that no one was hurt.
The quick action taken by the Morton Fire Department, with help from East Peoria, Washington, Deer Creek, Pekin, and Tremont Fire Departments, contained the fire to our location and helped save other businesses around our property along with nearby residential houses. Thank you to the Village of Morton and Ameren for their help at the scene. We can’t say thank you enough to all of the responding teams for their countless hours of hard work.
Thank you to our customers, friends, and community members for the phone calls, texts, and emails checking in on us and asking how you can help. The community spirit, help, and support in the most critical times are what make Central Illinois a special place to live and work.
Again, thank you to all of the first responders and our community for your help and support yesterday. A tragedy like this is hard to understand, especially after so many years in business, but we are clinging to God’s faithfulness and will find a rainbow after this storm.
