We took a brand new 2026 Ram 3500 Laramie, threw everything at it and in the timeline the client was hoping for in time for its several week maiden expedition out west.
Both fabrication and mechanical sides tackled this big project.
Starting with mechanical, we installed an AEV 3” XP DualSport suspension with 40” front axle relocation and Bilstein 8100 2.5” shocks. We beefed up the front axle with Carli front axle truss, Carli Extreme Duty ball joints and added PSC cylinder assist kit with lane assist box to help turn the BFGoodrich TA KT MT 40” tires on AEV Katla wheels. We opened up the front wheel wells with AEV HighMark Fender Flares. SSBC B8 8 piston calipers DDS brake rotors with high friction pads providing all the stopping power.
An Abel Components Power Wagon Disconnecting Swaybar is a perfect addition for offroad capability along with AEV differential covers and AEV snorkel. Hidden behind the front fender with our .25” aluminum custom bracket are (3) ARB brushless single compressors linked together, plus an Apex Designs 30’ hose reel mounted on our custom bracket, easily and quickly refill tires after a long day aired down offroad.
AEV intercooler skid plate and AEV front bumper with brush guard. Tucked in the bumper is a Warn 16.5 ti-s winch, Factor 55 Flatlink XXL and a mix of amber and white Baja Designs LP6 Pro lights and Squadron 2.0 Pros in the bumper footwell and Wolfbox 900 Tri-Pro camera complete the front of the truck.
Airlift Company LoadLifter ProSeries bags with Daystar cradles help keep the truck level when dealing with fluctuating weight.
Turning the truck over to fabrication where we hand built a boat side, all aluminum flatbed with rear light skirt with flush mount Baja Designs lighting and integrated storage tray and rear receiver tubes. With driver's side access, a custom half box at the headache rack stores the folding 3’ boom SpitzLift crane. When deployed, it mounts on our custom fabricated reinforced mount near the passenger rear wheel well and can easily lift to stow the 40” spare tire. This robust flatbed provides a sound platform for the 4WC 6.5 Hawk Plus pop up camper.
Fabrication also provided mounts in the engine bay for powering the compressors, crane and RedArc RedVision, aluminum folding stairs and mounting brackets, crossbars and skis for RoamSat Starlink.
When you are looking for a turn key project that can handle it all, look no further than Nuthouse Industries for all your mechanical and fabrication needs.
