It’s always fun to rescue an old car from out of a barn. Especially when it’s a surprise birthday gift for the original owner! This one cleaned up really nice. And it runs as good as it looks!

It’s been a busy summer! Here’s one we finished up a few weeks ago. A 64 Bonneville 421 HO with a 4 speed! We gave it a engine compartment detail, rebuilt the tri power, fixed all the little issues with the car, installed some quieter mufflers, new clutch and a nice brand-new set of OEM looking Diamondback classic whitewall radials. This one’s ready for the summer!

We just finished up some fine detail work on this gorgeous 67 GTO hardtop. I have been working on this car for the same customer for over 22 years! The first time I worked on it I was only 18 years old. I was working at a restoration shop in Naperville Illinois. I pulled the engine, painted the engine compartment and detailed everything. See the old photo.. Now years later, I still continue to improve the car for the same customer. The car is actually pretty unique. It’s burgundy with a cameo ivory white painted top. Two tone is pretty rare in 1967. It’s also a column shift bench seat which is seldom seen on a GTO. This time we painted on a correct pinstripe, installed the proper rear springs to get a factory ride height, installed a perfectly restored original carburetor and many other small detail items to gain additional points at the GTOAA nationals. It’s a pleasure to work with customers like this that appreciate all the small details. That’s the kind of work I love to do.

We just finished up a new drivetrain install on this real black 67 GTO convertible. It has a 69 428 block, Kauffman aluminum heads, roller cam and performer RPM intake. It was built by Ron Rocchi at Pontiac Performance Engeneering. It as an estimated 500 HP! We also installed a new Tremc TKX 5 speed transmission and a 9” differential with a 3.70 gear. This car feels awesome!

Here’s two really special cars we just happened to have at the shop at the same time.

The Acapulco blue 68 Mustang GT fastback is my father-in-law’s car. He purchased it in 1975 when he was still in high school. It’s a factory S code 390 big block. Because of the encouragement of his high school sweetheart (my mother in law) the car is still in the family! We painted the car back in 2010. Thier license plate says Forever 18 and they truly are!

The 71 Monte Carlo is owned by a long time family friend of ours. He purchased it around 1978 when he was still in college and has kept it all these years. We did some body and rear window repairs and painted the right hand side of the car.

There was times when both of these cars sat next over the years. It’s nice to see these two togeter again!

Pontiac at its finest. Pure power and luxury. The 1970 Grand Prix. 350 HP 400 is standard equiptment. This one just went home today. It’s an unrestored 53,000 mile car. Rust-free and in excellent condition. We resealed the engine and detailed the engine compartment, installed the seldom-seen factory stripe (our exclusive reproduction) and other detail work to preserve this wonderful car. We also installed a custom set of 3/8 white stripe radial tires to perseve that early 70s look. The ride, power and style of this car is second to none.
