I finally got all the factory green tinted glass cleaned. I was very lucky I was able to get all the Glass except for the Windshield from a customer of mine. That was At Pettys garage that went with me to Squids shop when Petty’s garage shut down. I needed to clean them all up and inspect them. See how bad they are scratch or marked up for more 50 years being original factory glass. There’s a place down the road that does glass polishing for scratches. They can’t do deep scratches because then you distort the vision through the glass. But I will be dropping them off Tuesday after work and they’re gonna give One a try. See what they think.

What a beautiful, very warm Carolina Sunday being hotter next week, especially Monday. I love it. I’ll take this over nine months of cold anytime.
Today I was able to work on the 68 Charger. After picked up my tools and put everything away that was all over the place from another repairs on other vehicles.
Then I thought it was time to finish the very big project of what Extreme Metal Works did. He polished my 1970s slotted mag aluminum Indy wheels.
You couldn’t clearcoat them after he polished them all up because nothing would really bite to it so he told me about this process that people do is called shark-hide it’s like a clearcoat, but it’s self etching. You wipe it on.
you have to put two coats on
so after using the prep stuff I put on one coat and I put another coat on tomorrow after work.
For 50 years my aluminum wheels that have been abused and not clean properly. I think they turned out beautiful. Skip at Extreme Metal work did amazing job. Now these things are not 100% like brand new which I didn’t want a brand new. I want some character in them. The show the years that these are very old aluminum wheels.

Very excited I went up this morning to pick up all my trim pieces for my 68 Dodge charger. Every piece of stainless steel, chrome and aluminum trim pieces has been fixed of all Dents and scratches and bends and imperfections from years of abuse, and then of course, taken off by a sh*tty restoration shop in Cherryville Showtime restorations. That aluminum trim pieces were sent out to get re-anodize (because that’s a proper way to do it )and then everything was polished. They all Look like brand spanking new. As we all know, it’s a lot better to put the money to restore your original trim pieces. Because replacement ones do not fit, right. And this guy Skip can fixed anything.
It’s so well worth the money and well worth the time because they are beautiful trim pieces after.
This is the before pictures. And this is the some what after, but they’re all wrapped and the box. I have not unwrapped them yet.

Some work on the 68 Charger today. Fitting the roll cage's left down bar. I think it looks pretty good. They're still doing a little bit of cleanup on the notch, then we'll weld in the nut b**g because I'm running through bolts. It's going to be a bolt-together cage, not a weld-in cage, so that when Savannah has the car, she can remove it if she'd like to. But right now, she wants the cage in it.

Finally got the main hoop, bar fitted and I’ll even out in the opening of the car. Now start working on the down bars ...

Well, I was back-and-forth back-and-forth about a roll cage and then talking with Savannah because this will be her car at one point and she said she wanted a roll cage in it so a roll cage is going in it. This is a simple four point makes a lot easier to hook up the five point seatbelts with the shoulder harnesses.
