STOP STALLING ON CURVES

We see it all the time on detailing channels where someone does a paint correction but it is always showed on flat panels. Now before anybody tries to be a know it all- hear me out! I could easily switch the tool to a 3inch and call it a day but when it comes to concave panels you don't always have to swap out the tool.
Many beginners and some experienced fall short in these areas and switch to the 3inch and perform a move known as the barrell roll but you can achieve the same results just by adjusting your technique on the 5inch and doing a slight tilt. This tricks the polisher's balance and counteracts the stall by shifting the pressure point.
When a DA polisher stalls on a concave panel, it happens because the flat pad loses even contact with the curved surface. Tis creates uneven friction, and the machine's safety balance mechanism halts the free rotation of the pad. By slightly tilting the machine, i am deliberately concentrating the downward force onto a smaller pivot point. This allows the polisher's counterweight balance to keep spinning freely
THE MYTH #1: Many detailers think they need to press harder or switch to a smaller machine immediately.

MYTH #2: If the pad isn't spinniing, it isn't cutting or polishing at all

MYTH #3: You should turn the machine down to 1 or 2 on tight curves for safety.

THE BIRD BOMB- The Ultimate Disrespect

When one door closes another door opens. This is how much other detailers hate me when i create a topic that spirals into viral territory to the point they ban me from a community. Hate is my fuel to be better and create more content that hits that funny bone.

Let's be honest. There are so many videos of a maintenance details that can last a lifetime. So many of you asked to keep it coming with content that gives a few good laughs while still keeping the car detailing elements. Enjoy and leave your haha comments down below.

I TOOK MY CERAMIC COATED VEHICLE THROUGH A CAR WASH (THE ONLY SAFE CAR WASH FOR CERAMIC COATINGS)

What happens when a professional detailer neglects his own car for nearly 5 months? In this video, WashBae from Illusionz Mobile Auto Spa takes his 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia through a local touchless car wash to show you the harsh reality of ceramic coating maintenance.

Look, we get it—not everyone wants to spend hundreds of dollars a month on professional maintenance details, and hand-washing your own car every week isn't always realistic. But taking your coated vehicle through a standard automatic brush wash or a cheap local hand wash will instantly ruin your paint with severe swirls, scratches, and marring despite the claims of being resistant.

Today, we’re putting a "Razor EDGE" touchless car wash to the test. Watch to see how a true professional ceramic coating holds up against 5 months of dirt, dust and road grime and why touchless washes are the best safe compromise for your wallet. I know critics are going to say "You're stupid for telling people not to buy your $200 maintenance package. You're losing money". BUT "I'd rather lose a $200 maintenance fee today than force a client into a plan they can't afford, get frustrated and never come back. Honesty builds lifetime clients, not just quick monthly bucks

JUST A LITTLE PILLARS CORRECTION. BEFORE/AFTER

This was a BMW IX M60 and when I say the gloss black pillars were super soft. That was an understatement. I thought that the rupes yellow pad combined with 3D one would finish this down perfectly but that was too aggressive. I finished out with a buff and shine white polishing pad and sonax perfect finish. It was definitely almost perfect but even that finishing still left a slight bit of haze. I tuned the polisher down to just speed 1.5 and that refined the haze pretty good. I went for the IPA wipe and then ceramic coated

From a 7-man crew back to solo: My experience in the industry.
Looking back at this picture from 2017. That’s my old van on the right. If you look closely, you can see a line of vehicles backed up behind that Porsche as far as the eye can see. That specific day, we had 35 cars lined up ready to be washed. I had a full 12x15 canopy tent set up with side walls and a team of 7 guys working with me.
We had secured a major contract with a local golf club in Alpine, New Jersey.

I originally landed the job because I was the only detailer around who actually carried proper liability insurance and looked completely professional. But even with documenting every single car and logging license plates, things got messy. The club management started accusing us of missing cars that we had absolutely completed—even when I showed them the photo proof. On top of that, the club manager or VIP guests would constantly cut the line with their own cars, completely breaking our rhythm and throwing the whole crew off schedule.

I eventually walked away from that contract because of the constant headaches, but at the time, I thought I was on top of the world because I had a massive team. I was writing checks to workers and depositing money, but I didn't truly understand the real cost of running a large-scale operation. Once you factor in proper payroll, workers' comp, state taxes, and massive insurance premiums for a crew that size, the reality hits you fast. I was expanding way quicker than my actual backend structure could handle.

I see the exact same thing happening in our industry today. A lot of guys start a detailing operation, quickly hire a crew, and think it's an automatic cash machine. But many of them are running under the table without proper coverage. The guys who are truly making it work at a high level are spending massive amounts of money on accountants, high-ticket insurance policies, and proper tax compliance. It takes a ton of consistent, high-paying work just to keep that machine fed.

For me, the lesson was painful but necessary. I chose to transition back to a solo operation. It is significantly less stress, my overhead is low, and I have total control over the quality of every vehicle I touch. A massive crew looks great from the outside, but if the foundation isn't perfectly set, it can fall apart in an instant. Doing things the right way is worth the peace of mind.

Looking back at these photos to what we see today in detailing. My business was ahead of it's time and to this day i still am. Just have to renovate a few things but the best has yet to come.

EXTREME TREE SAP REMOVAL BEFORE & AFTER
Last week NJ had a severe heat wave where the temperature reached 110+ degrees. A powerful thunderstorm took place before that 110 degree day and this jeep wrangler was parked underneath the pine tree.

The next day there was sap all over the vehicle and the vehicle sat untouched the entire day through a 110 degree heat wave making the temperature of the hood reach over 180 degrees.

The sap baked and sizzled on the hood like Bannana foster being carmelized and this was the result. An imprenetrable baked sap that was resistant to alcohol, Stoner Tarminator, mineral spirits.

Although the lighter translucent areas were easily removed with polishing. It was the heavy dark brown spots that were the real challenge but the results came out flawless
