⚠️ NEW LOUISIANA LAW FOR BUSINESSES
Beginning August 1, 2026, Louisiana Act 751 (SB 254) prohibits retail businesses from charging customers an additional fee for using a debit card.
Businesses that currently charge debit card processing fees, convenience fees, or similar surcharges should review their payment practices before the law takes effect.
