With much sadness we announce the passing of one of our Bi-State family members.

Mick Landauer, one of the original owners of Bi-State passed away Saturday January 24th after complications from a heart transplant.

If you ever got the chance to talk with Mick, it didn’t take long to realize how devoted he was to all the heart organizations he helped in one way or another. But the organization he was most passionate about was the Children’s Heart Foundation.

Those of us who knew Mick knew he would give you the shirt off his back to help you. Many of us experienced that generosity firsthand and will never forget the opportunities he gave us.

It’s ironic how a man who fought his entire life due to a defective heart turned out to be a man with a huge, generous heart.

We are looking for an Exhaust Technician at our Bi-State Moline location currently.

Overview:
Join our team as an Automotive Technician / Mechanic specializing in Exhaust work and Welding!

We are looking for technicians that have Mig welding experience along with strong fabrication skills that can do exhaust work.

You will repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles, tackling exhaust systems that will require welding, and some custom fabrication work at times.

Very heavy hearts here today at our Davenport Bi-State.

We lost one of our young apprentices (Carter Pacha) last night in a vehicle accident.

This video was taken a few weeks ago of Carter removing a scared, stuck cat from a customers car that no one else was willing to do.

This pretty much sums Carter up, always doing whatever was asked of him.
We’re gonna miss you around here buddy.

We are letting all of our customers know that the entry way off of 53rd Street to our Davenport Bi-State location has now been completely closed due to the 53rd Street project.

There is no way to enter our location from 53rd Street. The only way to access our business is off of Jersey Ridge Road to 52nd Street. Then take the back driveway off of 52nd Street that leads directly into our parking lot.

Our wonderful city assured us that prior to the entry way getting torn out they would put plenty of signage up letting our customers know to use the back driveway. Well that still has never happened, nor do we ever expect it to.

It has come to our attention that some of our customers are getting confused trying to find the back driveway off of 52nd Street.

So we have now placed our own Bi-State signs with arrows pointing the way along the back route to try and help you navigate easier.

Also there is a highlighted map that shows the way to access the Davenport Bi-State on the home page of our website (bistateauto.com) and also pinned to the top of our Face Book page.

Well it’s that time of year again where the dreaded road construction has started up.

Unfortunately our Davenport Bi-State is right in the middle of the 53rd St. project.

We’re just getting the word out that our Davenport store will continue to be accessible throughout this entire road construction project.
You can avoid 53rd St. completely and get to us off of Jersey Ridge Rd.

Part-Time Janitor Position

Our Davenport Bi-State location is currently looking to hire a part-time janitor.

We can be very flexible with the hours as to when the applicant is available to work. This position could range anywhere from 10 to 25 hours a week depending on how much the applicant wants to work.
This janitorial position would pay $10.50 an hour.

Job Duties - Would include basic janitorial duties in the shop, offices, and bathrooms. Also would include assisting in putting weekly stock orders away and some light outside ground maintenance from time to time.

Job Requirements - Must be willing to get dirty at times. (Bi-State will provide T-shirts, Gloves, and Safety Glasses)

In the past this position has typically been held by a high school student as it’s normally a good fit for them to work after school for a few hours until the store closes at 5:30pm. Although Bi-State would like to talk to anyone who thinks they might be interested in this position.
