A couple of great photos of the Camaro taken by Ron Lippmann during Friday Night Cruise In at Auto Crusade 2026!

Always cool to see the car captured from a different perspective. Thanks Ron for getting these shots! 👊

The next one is already on the calendar. 🏁

After a successful weekend at Auto Crusade, the ’71 Camaro is headed back to the autocross course on September 20th at Michelin Proving Grounds in Laurens, SC with the Porsche Club.

Different course. Different surface. More data.

The goal stays the same — keep learning, keep improving, and make the most of the setup we have.

Next stop: Michelin Proving Grounds.

Back home in North Carolina after a great weekend at Auto Crusade. 🏁

760 miles driven — with no trailer.
24 autocross runs
P4 out of 80 cars.
Fastest American car on site.

The overall top three were a Tesla, Mazda Miata, and Toyota GR86, with the ’71 Camaro finishing right behind them in the same class.

That makes for a pretty successful weekend.

The ’71 drove all 760 miles there, competed all weekend, and drove the entire way back home under its own power. That’s a pretty good validation of the car and its setup. 💪

More importantly, the weekend gave us a lot of data to work with. After going back through the notes, conditions, and the car’s performance, I think we found a potential solution that could be worth another 0.500–0.750 seconds on this type of surface and course.

That’s the part of autocross I enjoy — the work doesn’t stop when the runs are over.

The setup is proven when the conditions are right. Now we know where there may still be more time hiding.

I’ll save that change for next year. 😎

For now, the ’71 is back home, the notes are getting organized, and we’ll keep building on what we learned this weekend.

A few photos from this weekend’s Auto Crusade Car Show & Autocross 2026!

A great weekend of cars, competition, and good people.

Thank you to Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and everyone who worked behind the scenes to put on an awesome event this year.

A special thank you to Clay Jones and Robert Scheitlin for hosting an awesome autocross, and to all of the cone workers and volunteers who gave their time to make this event possible. An autocross simply doesn’t happen without the people willing to work it.

We appreciate the hospitality, the hard work, and everyone who helped make this a great weekend.

Already looking forward to coming back. 🏁

Travel day after a great weekend at Auto Crusade Car Show & Autocross in Georgia.

Made it to my parents this afternoon and the ’71 Camaro is getting a little break before we head back to North Carolina tomorrow.

A lot of miles, a lot of autocross runs, and plenty of good memories from the weekend.

Tomorrow we finish the trip home, then it’s back to the garage and getting everything ready for the next event. 🏁

Day 2 — Auto Crusade Autocross

That’s a wrap on the weekend in Georgia.

4th overall out of 80 cars and fastest American muscle car on site.

A strong finish for the Camaro and a great weekend of learning, testing, and putting the setup to work.

Big thanks to everyone who came out, competed, and supported the event.

Back home with more notes to go through and plenty to build on.
