Some heroes in road racing do turn a wheel… just not for themselves.

John Hinds was one of them.

An Irish consultant anesthetist who rode as part of the medical team at the North West 200, Ulster Grand Prix, and beyond, he brought critical care to the rider—at speed, on the roads, when every second mattered.

He didn’t watch from the sidelines.
He was in it.

In a sport that demands everything, John gave everything.

Calm in chaos. Precise when it counted. A man who understood racers because he rode alongside them—seeing what they saw, risking what they risked.

At TT USA, we talk a lot about bravery in this sport.

John lived it… in a different way.

He didn’t just save lives—
he gave riders the chance to keep living them.

Taken from us in 2015 on his way to another race, he never stopped showing up.

And he never will.

Because every rider who lines up carries a piece of him with them.

Ready to swap American short circuits for the hedges of Northern Ireland?!? 🏁🇺🇸 The 5.3-mile Around A Pound Tandragee 100 is gearing up for an absolutely massive weekend of real road racing. We are incredibly excited to announce that we will be having 3 Americans including our very own Stuart Clotworthy, Skyler Goar and Kyle Hunter to take on the tight, twisty roads of County Armagh! Known as the “best national road race in Ireland”, this legendary circuit isn’t for the faint of heart. Our American 🇺🇸 Team will be on the course against some of the best international road racers in the world. 🗓️ The Details: When: Friday, June 26 (Practice) & Saturday, June 27 (Main Race Day)Where: Tandragee, Co. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Dave Broadhead, Godspeed

“Sad to learn of the passing of local man and former top road racer Dave Broadhead. Many within this group will have known Dave. Junior MGP winner in 1981 and joint fastest lap with Rob Vine at 107.95mph, a 350cc record that stood for some years.

He had achieved so much in racing and in life itself, far more than I could ever hope to cover in tribute. But one of the top men in his racing days and well-known around the island, particularly in the West.

It gives me no pleasure whatsoever to have to post items like this. But at such times we must pay tribute to such riders who brought us all such excitement, entertainment and in many cases friendship over the years.

Offering our deepest sympathy to Marian and the wider Broadhead family”
