Well… we’re STILL waiting. 😂

Welcome back to Part 4.6 of our never-ending mission to turbocharge Black Reserve: The Vault!

This episode is a little different. Instead of turning wrenches in the shop, Morgan spends some time in the truck explaining where we’re at with the build, what’s holding us up, and what we’ve managed to accomplish while waiting for parts.

The good news? THE VAULT IS NOW SITTING ON 35” TIRES! 🔥

The bad news? We’re still dealing with the electronics. Our ECM needs to be reconfigured to work with this unique engine swap, so it’s headed to Gilomen Innovations in Minnesota to hopefully get everything communicating and running the way it should.

This build has been anything but straightforward, but we’re determined to see it through!

The Turbo Vault is almost DONE.

After all the wiring, fabrication, parts swapping, and problem solving, the machine is finally starting to look complete again.

In this episode, we get nearly everything installed and buttoned up:

🔧 About 90% of the sheet metal panels installed
💺 Interior and seats back in
❄️ Intercooler installed
💧 Intercooler coolant system completely plumbed
⚙️ Engine, drivetrain, wiring, and the rest of the major components in place

At this point, the list to actually get the Turbo Vault running is getting VERY short.

All that’s left:

⛽ Install the fuel lines
💻 Flash the ECM
🛞 Install the new 35” tires

We took the Vault from a naturally aspirated Polaris RS1-based setup and have been working through the process of installing the Turbo S engine, harness, electronics, intercooler system, and supporting components.

We’re officially in the home stretch.

The Turbo Vault build is finally starting to come together.

In this episode, we’re down to the last few wiring connections, the engine is officially set in place, the rear clutch cover/engine mount is installed, the clutches are on, and we’re starting into the fuel lines and coolant plumbing for the intercooler system.

For the intercooler radiator, we’re using the radiator from the donor machine, so now it’s all about figuring out the plumbing and getting everything tied together cleanly.

In Part 5, we’ll be:

* Flashing the ECM
* Finalizing the wiring
* Plumbing the intercooler system
* Hooking the fuel lines up to the fuel rail
* Getting even closer to finally bringing the Turbo Vault to life

A 1952 military jet crash hidden deep in Lockhart Basin…

Bob and Mom headed out into the Utah desert to track down the remains of a Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star that crashed in 1952.

Between the remote terrain, incredible scenery, and a piece of military aviation history still sitting out in the desert more than 70 years later, this turned into one heck of an adventure.

Part 3 of the Turbo Vault build is up!

We finally got the harness run, built the secondary clutch, and added grip tape to the floorboards. It’s still fighting us, but the Vault is getting closer to coming back together.
