Rhode Island just raised the bar on what counts as a total loss.

Gov. Dan McKee let S3115 become law without his signature, raising the state's total loss threshold from 80% to 85% of a vehicle's pre-accident value. It's the second increase in as many years, and it means more borderline-damage vehicles stay in the repairable column for Rhode Island shops at a time when national total loss frequency just hit a record 23.1%.

🚨 Look Twice. Save a Life. 🏍️
Motorcycles are everywhere this time of year, and they deserve the same space and respect on the road as every other vehicle.
One of the most common causes of serious motorcycle crashes is when a driver pulls out in front of an oncoming rider, believing they have more time than they actually do. Motorcycles can be harder to judge because of their smaller size, but that doesn't make them any less close.
Before pulling onto a road or making a left turn�✅ Look left, right, then left again.�✅ Take an extra second to check for motorcycles.�✅ Never assume the lane is clear after a quick glance.�✅ Give riders plenty of room and time.
That extra moment could save someone's life.
