Your battery gets the engine started. Once you’re running, the alternator helps power the vehicle and keeps that battery charged. When either one starts to fail, the symptoms can look pretty similar.
A few signs to watch for:
🔋 It may be the battery if:
• The engine cranks slowly, especially on colder mornings
• You hear clicking when you turn the key or push Start
• Your battery is several years old and starts are becoming less reliable
âš¡ It may be the alternator if:
• Your battery keeps dying even after being charged or replaced
• Headlights or interior lights dim or flicker while driving
• Electrical features start acting strangely
• The battery/charging warning light comes on
• The vehicle starts, but then stalls or loses power
And sometimes? You really can’t tell from the symptoms alone.
