Hawaii: Good news at least for now. Yesterday the Hawaii Senate taxation committee voted to “defer” the HB 2575 bill that was set to dramatically increase your taxes on all vehicles new or used that you purchase for your fleets.

This is not over, just deferred for now, but your legislators want cash and they aim to take it from your business.

Hawaii just introduced the taxation bill HB 2575 and supporting Senate bill SB 2594 to move the Sales and Use Tax from .5% to 4.0% for continued review and possible passing if we do not work collectively to stop it.

This bill as most of the other state level work we have been doing recently is to increase state tax revenue through a significant increase in sales taxes due the state at the time of new and used vehicle purchases for fleet use in rental and P2P operations.
