With the addition of the we've finally got the first six generations of the SL added to the poster series and have a 6-postcard SL pack available on the online shop. Take a look at the link below and learn more about the SL on our website.

The R230 is the 5th generation of the SL-Class and the first released in the 21st century. The R230 development started in 1996 and debuted in 2001 with around 170K produced during its 10-years of production. In 2012 the R230 was replaced by the R231 which was the final SL-Class vehicle before AMG took over the lineup with the R232 in 2021.

Same Bosch...different pump: We've shown you an R3Z before with the black protective coating, now check out the R3X featuring a brushed aluminum finish more similar to the Mercedes-Benz pumps we're used to. Early R3Xs were also made with a magnesium alloy so they can be found with the black protective coating as well, but for later examples they switched to aluminum, meaning that coating was not needed. With a few more stars and a lot more screens, the new S-Class is worlds away from the recent we've been looking at...but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not worthy of the legacy. Check out the new 2027 S-Class.

Part of you wants to find a major flaw to keep you from loving the new Mercedes S-Class beyond comprehension. But the more you drive it, the less likely that is to happen.

Introducing the Black Forest Blog!

If you've been yearning for more Mercedes-Benz history and mechanical insight you're in luck! We're excited to introduce the Black Forest Blog to give you a little more insight into some of the shop topics that haven't quite made it to the website.

Despite years of lagging sales and competition in-house from the likes of the new GT,
it appears the SL will live on, albeit with a focus on comfort rather than performance.

The Mercedes SL got sportier when it started sharing a platform with the GT Coupe, but the Maybach model is inspiring a return to form as a true grand touring car.
