𝗙π—₯π—œπ——π—”π—¬ π—‘π—œπ—šπ—›π—§ 𝗣π—₯π—”π—–π—§π—œπ—–π—˜ π—¨π—£π——π—”π—§π—˜ 🚨 We are FULL STEAM AHEAD for this weekend’s Barney Barnhill Memorial Race & Fireworks Show! However, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel tonight’s scheduled practice as we focus on having the best racing surface possible for Saturday and Sunday.

The track is still in great shape for this weekend, but after an afternoon shower moved through and with more rain still in the area, we feel the best decision is to keep the race cars off the surface tonight and put our efforts toward preparing it for two big nights of racing.

Again, we are full steam ahead for racing Saturday and Sunday! 🏁

Racers looking to get some laps in tonight are encouraged to head about 45 minutes north of us to Blackwater Speedway near Baker, Florida, and support our friends there as they kick off this big Labor Day Weekend of racing!

With a big weekend coming up at Southern Raceway, we want to remind drivers and race teams of a few important procedures:

πŸ“» π—₯π—”π—–π—˜π—–π—˜π—œπ—©π—˜π—₯𝗦 𝗔π—₯π—˜ 𝗠𝗔𝗑𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗒π—₯𝗬
Every driver must have a working RACEceiver programmed to the default channel any time they are on track. It is the driver’s responsibility to make sure it is working properly.

If Race Control becomes aware during a race that a driver does not have a working RACEceiver, that driver may be disqualified from that race. It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure they have a working RACEceiver.

⏱️ 𝗧π—₯π—”π—‘π—¦π—£π—’π—‘π——π—˜π—₯𝗦 π—₯π—˜π—€π—¨π—œπ—₯π—˜π——
We are now using transponder scoring for every division at Southern Raceway. We use the yellow Westhold transponders. If you own a compatible transponder, you’re welcome to use your own. If not, transponders can be rented from the track for $5 per night.

Drivers renting a transponder will be required to leave their driver’s license at registration, which will be returned when the transponder is turned back in at the end of the night.

π—œπ— π—£π—’π—₯𝗧𝗔𝗑𝗧: Transponders must be mounted in a transponder pouch while on the race car. If you don’t already have a pouch, transponder pouches will be available for purchase at Registration.

πŸš› π—£π—œπ—§ 𝗣𝗔π—₯π—žπ—œπ—‘π—š
With this weekend being a special event and a number of out-of-town teams and larger haulers expected, all pit spots will be first come, first served this weekend. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we work to accommodate as many teams as possible.

All feature starters in our local divisions receive payout. However, we will no longer hold uncollected payout after race night.

Payout can be collected at the Registration/Payout Building near the passthrough gate between the General Admission and Pit areas. The payout window will remain open for at least 30 minutes following the conclusion of the final race of the night.
