John Deere 1023E tractor had only 50 hours on it and the hydraulics suddenly stopped working and there was a loud wine coming from the pressure relief valve just after the hydraulic pump. After checking over all the basics that could cause an issue like this such as one of the SCV connections being loose, etc, the next step was to do the 50 hour transmission / hydraulic fluid change along with replacing the spin on transmission filter and the hydraulic fluid suction screen filter. John Deere removed this 50 hour service from their owner's manuals shortly after 2020, but it is HIGHLY recommended and this repair shows why! Even though the fluid was full and clear, once the hydraulic suction filter was taken out it was very obvious that it was very clogged with a thick film and cannot draw in fluid from the bottom of the transmission up to the hydraulic fluid pump. After changing these items, the hydraulics immediately worked again!
