🧠🔥 MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY — YOUR BRAIN WAS BUILT TO CHASE THE WIN 🏁

This weekend was pretty awesome for customers and family I want to give credit where credit is due. These are the few I noticed or reached out directly.

Ever wonder why racing is so damn addictive?

It’s chemistry. 🧪

When you strap in and the adrenaline starts flowing, your brain and body are already changing.

⚡ Adrenaline — heart rate climbs, reactions sharpen, and your body prepares to fight.

🎯 Dopamine — the chemical behind reward, motivation, and the DRIVE to chase something you want.

🔥 Norepinephrine — increases alertness and focus when everything around you starts happening FAST.

😤 Cortisol — rises under pressure and helps your body respond to the stress of competition.

Then you cross that finish line first…

🏆 DOPAMINE.

Your brain remembers that feeling.

And it wants it AGAIN.

That’s why racers spend all week thinking about a few minutes on Saturday night.

Why we tear something apart that was already fast.

Why we study tires, gearing, setup, weather and track conditions looking for another tenth.

Why finishing second somehow makes you work twice as hard.

Your brain is literally wired to chase the reward.

And funny enough…

That sounds a whole lot like how we approach tires at Firewater Motorsports. 😂🧪🔥

Temperature changes reactions.

Friction changes reactions.

Moisture changes reactions.

Chemicals migrate.

Oils move.

Rubber changes.

Track conditions change.

The racer is basically a rolling chemistry experiment…

and so are the tires. 😂

The difference between winning and chasing the winner is understanding what those reactions are doing — and learning how to control as many of them as possible.

Because once you’ve experienced that feeling of rolling into Victory Lane…

Your brain already knows what it wants next.

🏆 MORE.

So keep studying.

Keep experimenting.

Keep chasing that tenth.

Keep chasing that feeling.

And when the chemistry needs a little help…

🧪🔥 We know a guy.

I have 1 senior champ up for rent at the Maxxdaddy. Will come as a roller $500 for the weekend. Has 3 race weekends on it. Finished 5th at the inaugural 2025 King of the Champs by Cole Rhoton at the wheel.

Excited to be part of the Iconic Midwest Maxxdaddy as well as cementing our King of the Champs Race as a Crown Jewel in the world of karting. Who will take this home in 2026 at Fairbury in less than a month?

You'll notice I didn't do a motivational Monday post. I was busy celebrating 40 years on this Blue planet. So a day late here's a tip.

🧪🔥 KNOWLEDGE MONDAY: TEMPERATURE CHANGES CHEMISTRY 🛞🏁

One overlooked part of tire prep is temperature.

Chemical reactions generally happen faster as temperature increases and slower as temperature decreases. Tire prep is no different.

Think about it this way:

🔥 More Heat = More Activity
When the tire is warm, the rubber becomes more receptive and the chemicals in a prep can migrate and interact faster. Oils already inside the tire also become more mobile.

❄️ Less Heat = Slower Activity
A cold tire reacts more slowly. The exact same amount of prep applied at 50°F can behave completely differently than it does at 90°F.

But here’s where racers get themselves in trouble…

Faster isn’t always better.

If you combine an aggressive chemical with a hot tire, hot track, and repeated applications, you can accelerate the process beyond what you actually wanted. Instead of creating grip, you may end up with a tire that’s too oily, too soft, overheated, or greasy.

That’s why we don’t look at prep as simply:

“How many wipes?”

We look at the whole equation:

🧪 Chemical Strength
🌡️ Tire Temperature
☀️ Track Temperature
⏱️ Time Before Racing
🛞 Amount of Chemical Already in the Tire

Change the temperature and you’ve changed the reaction — even if you didn’t change the bottle.

That’s also why something that worked perfectly on a cool spring night may act completely different during a 95°F afternoon race.

Temperature isn’t just changing the racetrack. It’s changing your chemistry.

I'll give away tips not secrets but I will say I have some good notes on this.

We made it home from race 3 MCKS and race 4 of the Maxxis Midwest. What a cool event. I only raced champ kart. Finished 5th fought some chassis and gearing but got better each time out. I wanna thank Rod Cunningham at Flight Out Kart Parts Trailer for a great weekend. He's a good friend and helps me a ton by getting my stuff to and from the track. He also provides good conversations and shares the passion for racing. Thank you to Tan-yah and Chris for joining us this weekend. For bringing the bees 🐝 and some extra conversations. Chris was a blast to work with on setup and always willing to try things sometimes I feel he might have some point upset the racing gods because his luck is not on the good side if you know what I am saying. Broken parts, flat tires, getting hit in the chest by baseball sized rocks while racing. Pretty much every scenario he had covered. Ryan and family. Karsyn and Jonathan did a great job too wheeling their karts in every A main and having strong runs. Enjoyed their company as well. Jessi can't forget you, as you worked hard and it doesn't go unnoticed. Thanks to my Crew chief Rick for always willing to help of all the team's karts whenever and everywhere. Onto the next one and one of the biggest ones. The Maxxdaddy. Catching some zzz now for a bit.
