GM Billet LS Gen 3 Knock Sensor Delete Valley Tray. Saves half the weight of factory and o ringed. Pockets offered on either the top or bottom if preferred. Pretty nice piece. 0.375 thick 6061. Can be anodized. Message for pricing.

12 valve swap update:

Wild Diesel LLC built 12 valve installed. South Bend Clutch dual disk clutch.

Diesel Power Source. twin turbos installed.

Front and rear driveshaft lengths adjusted. Disassembled both driveshafts and powder coated them as well.

321 stainless DMH Fabrication and Automotive Repair downpipe. Still plan to add a egt b**g and ceramic coat the exhaust.

Up next: Wiring and checking the cab fitment with the new engine, turbo, and exhaust combination.

12 valve swap update:

With the Cummins 12 valve swap it was necessary to shift the transmission to the rear of the truck to accommodate the new straight 6 Cummins engine. As a result the body had to be modified to allow access to the shifter. Other individuals choose not to alter the shifter hole in the body; However we wanted to ensure access to the top shift lever plate as in oem applications. After modifying the shift lever opening, we decided to recondition the entire bottom of the cab. We will not be modifying the manual transfer case selector hole. Instead, a custom linkage setup will be fabricated that will allow the transfer case lever to remain in the oem position in the cab.

12 valve swap update:

The frame is back from powder coating. While all of the “smaller” parts have been done by myself, we could not handle a 21 foot long frame. Peninsula Custom Coaters, Inc. in Williamsburg, VA did a great job on the frame and the price was more than reasonable.

I have been busy starting the reassembly of this 2006 F250. The axles are back under it. The Wild Diesel LLC built 12 Valve and Ford 6 speed are bolted in.

When we removed the original bed from this truck, we found some underlying damage. We decided to part ways with the original bed and picked up a new factory take off. We will be painting the truck at the end of this conversion either way so it made sense to start with a new oem bed with no damage or coating in it. We will LINE-X the bottom of the bed and the inside before it goes on the frame.

Next on the list is to install the Diesel Power Source. twin compound turbos. We will be using a DPS 62/65/12 turbo over a Borg Warner S475 turbo.

12 Valve swap update: Helicoils are installed in the Diesel Conversion Specialists adapter plate. The adapter plate worked perfectly to mate the factory Ford 6 speed and Wild Diesel LLC built 12 valve Cummins. There is a South Bend Clutch dual disk clutch hidden in there! Frame should be back from coating this week so we can get this bolted up in the F250 frame. DMH Fabrication and Automotive Repair

12 valve swap update: Since we are keeping the factory Ford 6 speed we needed an adapter plate to mate the engine.

This is what was purchased from Destroked Colorado and will be going back to them. It is in no way acceptable for my standards. Burs rolled in every countersunk hole. Horrible “threads” (granted we will be installing helicoils regardless for strength). Adapter plate is only faced on one side and a bunch of other poor machining practices.

With that said, we made a call to Diesel Conversion Specialists. They had a new adapter plate out to us in no time. The quality on DCS’s adapter is great.

I am installing helicoils in all the transmission mounting bolt holes in the DCS adapter plate now. This is not required but personal preference. Helicoils will add strength compared to the aluminum threads and allow us to remove the transmission, as required, without worrying about fatigue on the aluminum threads or galling.

For the 2006 F350 12 valve swap, I decided to powder coat the power steering gear box housing before we send it out to Red Head Steering Gears Inc. to be rebuilt. The steering gear box had no problems with it but we wanted to recondition it while the truck was apart. I can not wait to get it back!
