It could not be more evident that racers are family than by seeing all of the love for the Hendrick’s the past couple of weeks. Their family was a part of the Southside Speedway family too and we want to wish Joetta, Melissa, Brandon and all of the Hendrick family our heartfelt condolences in the unexpected and heartbreaking passing of Roy.
The last time we were all together was at our 60th anniversary event at the track on July 26, 2019. Roy was there, of course, with his Flying 11.
The history of the Hendrick family at Southside Speedway has been well documented, and Roy’s spirit will forever carry on in racers of many generations that not only raced at Southside, but who still race with the Flying 11.
We’ll never forget that beautiful night in July 2019, Roy, and we’ll never forget you. Thank you for the memories.
