Formula H Motorworks, Inc., one of the largest and oldest independent Honda & Acura service facilities in the US, is seeking to immediately fill one Service Advisor position. A versatile individual is needed. An ideal person for this position would be precise, detail oriented, able to multitask, and have strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities include answering telephone calls, writing up repair orders, creating estimates, contacting customers with estimates and getting their approval, explaining necessary work to customers, parts ordering, helping customers with parts purchases, checking in parts orders and entering parts into business system, interacting with customers in person and on the phone, computer work, filing, and customer follow-up. A strong desire to learn is required. Existing automotive knowledge/experience is preferred, but not mandatory as we will train the right person.

Salary commensurate with experience. Paid holidays, vacation, sick time, health insurance, uniforms, along with a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan are all offered after initial probationary period. With an impending retirement in approximately 12 months, the correct person will additionally have the opportunity for a promotion to a management position.

1 June…

One of the most significant, if not THE most significant, dates in Formula H history.

On 1 June 1988, we opened our doors for business, at our first location, 236 Monhagen Avenue, unexpectedly, when Joan Downey-Palmer, a retired teacher of mine from Valley Central, needed an emergency oil change before leaving for vacation. With that appointment, she registered Repair Order #0001 (handwritten back in the day), and with that, 37 years of history began.

37 years, and approximately 80,000 repair orders later, we are humbled by the love shown to us by our customers, each and every day. 

Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our family, friends, and customers, who have made the last 37 years an incredible journey, as we look forward to the next 37 years. Maybe by then, we’ll all be driving flying Hondas?

Wow! 😮

Kevin, Debbie, Trayvell, George, Ian, Paul, Bill, and I would like to thank the most awesome customers in the world for voting us #1 in two out of the three categories in which we were entered, and #2 in the third!

I, and everyone else here, are truly honored and humbled by the loyalty, kindness, and appreciation of our family of customers.

As we enter our 37th year of serving the surrounding community, we are excited to be taking care of three generations of our wonderful family of customers.

When we opened on June 1, 1988, little did we realize what we had begun. A most sincere “thank you“ to all of our customers, old and new. We appreciate you.

I always have a wonderful time doing this. Not only is it a ton of fun, but it gives me an opportunity to give back. 

Valley Central graduate and owner of Formula H Motorworks, Brian Baker, shared his personal journey of business ownership to the VCHS Business and Marketing Honor Society this week. Experience is preferred, but we will train the right person.
