This well spec’d M550i was very recently purchased by the customer. They brought it in to have it looked over. As you can see the vehicle had the original air and cabin filters. It also got a brake and coolant fluid exchange as well as an oil service

The importance of proper diagnoses!

This 2015 X5 was brought to us after another shop had previously recommended a DME (Engine control module). The vehicle had multiple communication issues, and the previous shop had already replaced several parts, at the owner’s expense. One of the parts being an aftermarket catalytic converter that they thought was causing a separate (18001) catalyst efficiency code. Unfortunately, installing this inferior cat did not repair the problem. One of our senior technicians, Brad, expertly diagnosed the vehicle to simply needing a new ground cable. A proper OEM catalytic converter was also needed at this time because the aftermarket cat did not function correctly. The sad truth is that the cat was not needed from the beginning. The customer was very grateful we were able to get the vehicle back on the road without wasting anymore unnecessary time or money.
