Southwest Senior High took over West Kendall Toyota for a hands-on field day with Bean 🔧🚗
Students from the automotive program were split into teams and put to the test, rotating through four real-world modules: tire rotation, engine work, electrical wiring, and circuit diagnostics. Each team was timed and competing head-to-head, bringing both skill and energy to every station ⏱️⚡️
Beyond the competition, students learned about the Miami Dade College Bean Automotive Group Apprenticeship Program, where they can continue their education while gaining paid, hands-on experience as apprentice technicians in one of our four shops. They also toured the classroom and met the instructor leading the next generation of technicians 👨🔧🎓
To top it all off, we surprised them at the end with a race car that our new apprentice technician teams have worked on year after year, safe to say it was a highlight of the day and got everyone excited 🏁🔥
It was a day full of learning, teamwork, and a glimpse into the future of automotive careers. Big thank you to students of Southwest Senior High for spending the day with us — we loved having you👏
