This clutch assembly was removed from a Jeep that had only been installed for 12,000 mi and less than a year. Does anyone seen anything out of the ordinary? (Was never off-roaded, in fact never left pavement).

We had a little training for a couple teenagers, you might recognize one of them? 2007 Chevrolet trailblazer got a new engine, video of first start in the comments. We were chasing a misfire that ended up being an issue in the cylinder head as well as some damaged rings.

Crazy how much you have to take these new cars apart for something so simple as a grill!

This one was a PO301 code on a 2015 Wrangler 3.6, that after testing the coil, injector, and finally leak down test, we decided to check the valvetrain out. Ended up changed out the lifters and cams.

So since I'm laid up with an injury for today, I figured I'd post some of the recent projects and repairs. First one up is a 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ that had a very odd symptom that had baffled previous attempts to repair it. "The dome light fuse keeps blowing" (should have included ONLY WHEN STARTING the Jeep). So, you could replace the fuse, and the dome light worked as designed. However, as soon you tried to start it and the engine was turning, THEN the fuse would blow. I isolated it do the ASD (auto shut down) circuit as what was getting grounded, and then some fun test results later (video's attached). I started pulling the harness apart to chase down what I expected to be some melted wires. What I found was much more difficult to locate. (description in the photo's, long story short, multiple shorts at connectors and socket's was allowing a pinched wire to not start a fire, but rather distribute the ground load backwards.

This is a perfect example of why you do scheduled maintenance. This Lexus only has 130k miles, had zero issues with overheating or coolant loss...or so we thought. This was discovered while doing long term preventative maintenance.

This is one of my favorite new toys, it allows you to pull vacuum on the cooling system (which verifies the integrity) as well as allowing you to fill the system under vacuum, which all but eliminates burping! A requirement on the JK+ wranglers.

One of the most common problems we solve on the TJ's is getting the evap system sealed up, and pass a drive cycle for emissions. This tool pulls vacuum, as well as introduces smoke to find the leak, and then conversely verify the solution worked. Video in the comments!

We recently got a 1990 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a blown head gasket in the shop. There's a few critical steps to get right, but overall a very straightforward job. The owner was blown away at how smooth it runs now. :)
