This repair was crazy!

Here’s a front sub frame out of an early 2010’s Ford Escape. Due to the design and AC drain dripping water on them, they pretty much all go bad in this same spot.

What made this one crazy is this car was just into a “chain” shop for an alignment. The customer got the car back with the steering wheel like this (picture in comments). They adjusted the tie rod end out as far as it would go and never noticed the bad sub frame with holes in it 🤔

Needless to say, the car went straight from that shop to us, and it barely made it.

We got the subframe replaced, and aligned properly.

It just goes to show a $100k-plus alignment machine/setup doesn’t do a whole lot of good if the tech doesn’t know how to use it or do proper inspections.

What is J2534? It’s a communication standard that allows us to use OEM software and a PC to perform dealer level diagnostics, coding, and programming of all modules.

Every manufacturer uses their own software for diagnostics and programming for full functionality, and we are able to use the factory software that works best for your individual vehicle.

What does this mean for you?

These days, more and more repairs require these procedures to be done on newer vehicles to ensure a proper and functional repair.

Many independent shops don’t want to mess with J2534 devices, coding, or programming, forcing you to visit the dealership 💸🤑💸🤑
