🔧 A SMALL PART CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE! 🔧

Many newer vehicles use plastic oil drain plugs, O-rings, or crush washers to seal the engine oil pan. Heat, oil, age, and repeated use can cause these inexpensive parts to seep or leak.

At Universal Auto & Tire, we will always recommend replacing the drain plug or sealing washer when appropriate.

When the manufacturer allows reuse—and the plug appears serviceable with no active seepage—you may choose to reuse it to help keep a few dollars in your pocket. However, if a reused plug or seal later leaks, the customer will be responsible for:

🔩 The replacement plug or seal
🛢️ Any oil needed to restore the proper level
🧰 Any applicable labor

Some vehicles use manufacturer-designated one-time-use plugs, gaskets, or crush washers. When replacement is required by the manufacturer, the necessary part will be installed and billed with the oil service.

Our goal is simple: follow the proper service information, protect your engine, and give you a clear choice whenever the manufacturer allows one.
