It’s Monte Monday again! Dave is back to work on the 1981 Monte Carlo, and this week he is continuing on the driver side quarter panel. He started by drilling out the factory spot welds around the wheel well area and removing a strip of the old metal so he could continue exposing the sections that need repair and replacement. It might not look like a huge change from the outside, but taking apart these factory panels one piece at a time is what allows the new metal to fit correctly and helps ensure the repairs last. Every spot weld removed is another step closer to getting the new quarter panel installed and bringing this Monte back to life. There's still a lot more to tackle on the Monte, so stay tuned to see what Dave gets into next Monday!

Dave and Colleen from Half Dozen Customs headed out to another car show, but this one was extra special for us because it was the hometown show for the 1949 Jeep W***ys Pickup. It has been a dream for the last few years to be able to have the Jeep attend this show, and after all the work that went into the build, it was awesome to finally see it sitting on display in Mentone. It was a really nice day with just over 115 vehicles in attendance, excellent food at the festival, and so many different car creations to check out throughout the day. The best part was seeing people stop and take a close look at the Jeep, asking questions and checking out all the details that Dave worked so hard on during the build. To top it all off, the Jeep ended up taking home an award, and we could not be more proud of how this project turned out. A huge thank you to the Mentone Chamber of Commerce for hosting another great Egg Festival and Car Show. It was a great day filled with horsepower, good food, and a lot of fun, and we hope you enjoy the video. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more car shows, builds, and behind the scenes with Half Dozen Customs!

Dave is currently working on a 1949 Jeep W***ys Pickup, and this time he had a helper out in the shop. Colleen joined him to help install the door seals, turning it into a two person job. Dave applied the adhesive to the door while Colleen applied it to the seal, using a zigzag pattern on both surfaces before letting the glue set up and become tacky. Once ready, they carefully joined the two together. Dave also took the extra step of taping off the painted areas around the doors because this adhesive is extremely strong and can damage fresh paint if you are not careful, so taking your time and protecting the surrounding surfaces is important. Later that evening, Dave and Colleen headed back out to the shop and assembled both doors onto the cab. It is exciting to see major pieces finally going back together, and the W***ys cab is really starting to look like a truck again. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more work on the Jeep W***ys Pickup!
