Meet Manley Tate from Dynamic Powertrain Reman DPR, one of our incredibly knowledgable speakers who will be teaching at the FREE hands-on transmission building class on October 8 in Newport, Rhode Island, with Whatever It Takes Transmission and SunCoast Performance!

Manley Tate descends from an automotive family with his father having worked at GM/Delphi for 40 years. He is a degreed engineer from Purdue University and embarked on his own automotive journey starting at the Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo, IN. He moved on to Raybestos where he served in various capacities, ending in his final role as Executive Vice President. There was a 3-year stint in between the Raybestos tenure, running a powder coating operation in Indiana.

After Raybestos, Manley moved to Omaha and served as Chief Operating Officer for Certified Transmission in 2014. In 2017, he joined the ranks of ownership with Dynamic Powertrain Reman located in Chicago, and continuing its rich history in the torque converter remanufacturing space.

Manley will be teaching a class about "Emerging Issues in the Industry" and you won't want to miss it!

We are a re-manufacturing facility in the automotive industry, specializing in powertrain components for all vehicle and industrial applications.

Description:

In this role you will direct and manage plant operations with overall responsibilities for production related processes. You will foster the professional development of departmental supervisors and drive continuous improvement, execute change management and ensure plant and employee safety standards are met.

Required Skills:

-Responsible for overall labor planning and completion of work required to support all manufacturing departments in a cost-effective manner.
-Plans, directs and controls activities of supervisors and team leads in order to meet customer orders.
-Develops and implements consistent department procedures. Communicates methods, policies and procedures to managers and supervisors. Anticipates, investigates and evaluates future process needs.
-Performs as a resource for customers by providing expert advice and technical support.
-Analyze trends to continually improve Operational Efficiency.
-Evaluates the current workflow and creates improvements based on current needs.
-Responsible for pro-active people management. Sets the standard for performance assessment and feedback, effective communication, promoting positive morale and supporting team effectiveness.
-Actively drives culture, ensures that safety policies and procedures are followed.
-Maintains quality control at a level that meets or exceeds the demands of the individual job.

Required Experience:

-10 years plus automotive experience preferred.
-5 + years of experience in manufacturing.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
-Demonstrated success at managing a fast paced, highly transactional production operation.
-Proven ability to lead and guide others.
-Spanish speaking preferred
