🔧 Starting the week with another BMW, this time getting a fresh set of shocks!

Our technician is performing a leak down test on this Mustang as part of the diagnostic process. When an extended warranty company sends out a third-party inspector, there are situations where our technicians may need to demonstrate the issue again and provide current test results. That can mean repeating tests such as compression testing, leak down testing and other diagnostic procedures so everyone has the information needed to move the claim forward.

Our technicians make sure the results and findings are properly explained, while our advisors keep the customer updated throughout the entire process.
It may add another step to the repair, but having accurate documentation helps make sure everyone is working from the same information.

This C6 Z06 came in for a pulley upgrade and a little extra insurance for that 7.0L LS7 🏁🔧

We upgraded the pulley and pinned the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft. The pinning process mechanically locks the balancer in place, helping prevent it from slipping or spinning on the crankshaft under high horsepower and demanding driving conditions.

With the LS7 putting down 505+ horsepower at the crank (love that license plate!), harmonic balancer movement is a known concern on these cars, especially when adding more power. A little preventative work now can go a long way toward keeping this Z06 performing the way it should. 💪

🔑 You turn the key. The dash lights up. But the engine won’t crank.
Frustrating, right?

In certain situations, if you can safely shift the vehicle into Neutral and it starts, that can point toward a problem with the neutral safety switch, also known as a transmission range sensor or inhibitor switch.

That’s exactly what our technician found on this vehicle. After performing the appropriate tests, our team also scanned the vehicle and found a trouble code related to the failed unit. Once the replacement was installed, the vehicle was back to starting like it should. 🔧

Of course, shifting to Neutral isn’t a universal fix for every no-crank situation, but it can be a useful diagnostic clue!

This truck came in with an issue involving its brake lights. Instead of simply quoting a bulb and hoping that would solve the problem, our technician went a little deeper into the electrical system.

That testing revealed an electrical short in the wiring that was actually causing the issue.Once the wiring was repaired, the brake lights were working properly agaim🔧

Customer states their Mazda has a “rattle” during cold starts that would sometimes disappear, and sometimes returns while driving.

Once we started the engine, that rattle became much more concerning. We confirmed an engine knock, and when we checked the oil, things got even worse. The oil was in poor condition, barely flowed when we tried to take a sample, and contained visible metal particulates...never a good sign.

Unusual engine noises can be an early warning that something isn’t right. The longer you continue driving with an internal engine problem, the more potential there is for additional damage. If your vehicle suddenly develops a knock, tick, tap, or rattle, don’t just turn up the radio and hope it goes away. 😅 Bring it in and let our team take a closer look!
